06 Cayenne S Rear Door Window Blind / Steering Wheel Trim

Hi, just bought an 06 Cayenne S and very happy so far.  Car is in lovely condition but has a couple of niggling bits.

 

1. Rear door window sun shade / blind will not retract.  Can anybody help with info how to remedy this?

 

2. The steering wheel silver trim piece at the lower spoke is missing.  Previous owner said she asked Porsche who advise it was not available separately.  Does anybody have ideas where I may source one.

Those buttons are actually on the airbag assembly.

You might try a salvage yard (but matching the options and color may be a challenge) or get the whole steering wheel assembly.

US MSRP on a new airbag assembly is $600 to $1000.

Thanks - salvage yard it may be.  It is a silver colour so would hope it is sort of standard.

 

Not worth replacing whole unit.

No luck so far on my side - if anybody is near or on good terms with a dismantler I really would appreciate help to source one.  Suspect it will need to come from a deployed AirBag that would be scrapped.
