Removing window tint film

I was stopped by the sheriff outside Ann Arbor, MI recently after dusk because he said he couldn't see into my 2010 4S coupe as it went by!  He asked if the car was from out of state and I said yes, I just bought it in Miami. He didn't give me a ticket but suggested I check to see if the windows had tinted film added as the law in Michigan says the top four inches must be clear, no tint.  I did and sure enough there is a film on the side windows that was not very apparent. My question is how to remove the film without damaging the glass. Is there a simply way like just pulling it off or will it require steaming, or something else? Thanks.

Depending upon how it was applied, it may require steam to remove it.  Most shops that do window tint offer removal services as well.

Search on youtube for tint removal, the plastic trash bag and steam is the way to go, works well!!
