Driving down the highway at 75mph in the CTT and all of the sudden the car almost violently loses power and I have nothing when I hit the pedal, the car downshifts every gear to the redline and i pull over. The check engine light comes on.

I turn the car on and off and have power and cruise away fine, CEL still on, then 5mls later the PSM light comes on. What is going on?

Normally for some reason when I'm on longer highway drivers, the PSM light always comes on and stays on for a couple days then goes away. Why does it do this? Winters coming and I don't wanna be driving around with no traction control in the snow.

Any help would be appreciated Thanks.

This is not a normal condition.

As dan87951 states, you need to read the codes.

P1508 Torque Comparison Function Monitor - Signal Implausible Possible cause of fault - MAF sensor faulty or at fault detection threshold - DME control module faulty Fault Code 1314 - DME Control Module Possible cause of fault Signal from DME does not correspond to expected signal (please read out fault memory). Signal from DME does not appear on CAN drive (no signal/communication).

So, I need a MAF or a DME control module?

 

Perform adaptation first before anything else.

 

The following conditions must be satisfied to ensure that the adaptation is performed:
- Do not actuate the accelerator pedal (for instance, make sure that there is not a carpet pressing on the pedal)
- Vehicle is stationary
- Battery voltage between 10 V and 16 V
- Engine temperature between 5 °C and 100 °C
- Intake air temperature > 10°C
 
1. Switch the ignition on without starting the engine
2. Using the 9588 Porsche System Tester ll (or PIWIS, or PIWIS 2) perform a "throttle adaptation" under the "System adaptation" section (the notes which follow must be observed).

Throttle adaption is a very good idea. I would also try to data log your MAF's. Turbos have two and they will never be exactly the same but should be somewhere in the ballpark of each other.
