Cayenne S heat(or lack of)

Newbie Cayeen S owner here. My 2004 does not blow hot heat unless I drive for many miles. Does not blow hot in a 30 minute commute. Can I bleed the system? or is there a more serious issue??

To correctly remove air from the system, you need the use of a vacuum filling tool.  While it may be entrapment, it could also be a thermostat issue.

does the car temperature come up to normal temp quickly or in a 30min drive does the coolant temp stay low?  that could be a thermostat or pump issue.

 

the next question is do you hear the aux. electric pump kick on when you select heat?  if not then you need to look at the pump/fuse

Thanks for the advice. I will listern for the electric pump click. Watch for when the heat does kick in. From memorie it does not blow heat at normal operating temps,

The system will self bleed on the Cayenne. The auxiliary coolant pump is an impeller type and doesn't click, put your hand on the pump to feel if it's running. There is no water control valve just a temperature blend door so best to check climate control for fault codes and servo operation.
