My intermittant wiper finction is inop. When stalk is moved to position 3 the wiper makes 1 complete sweep and comes to a full rest in the wiper park position. No further sweep even after adjustments with the interval control thumb wheel in eaither directions are made. Wipers stay parked.

Wipers work fine in position 1 slow and position 2 fast.

Any ideas?

Thx...

Well the relay and the dash switch seem to be the only intermittent wiper functions that are not shared by the standard wiper function. Try another relay (position 16 - 3rd row down 6th relay from the left) (996 615 103 00) . And/or check the continuity of the switch with an ohm meter (it should vary as the knob is rotated).

I got this when I did the OBC retrofit. Turns out I had inadvertantly pulled the plug from the back of the interval control. The lead on mine was a bit short, and it was a fiddle to get it back on with the plug in place. Might be worth checking.

Loren and Richard...

Thank you both. Pulled the small dash cover which holds the switches. The connect to the interval control knob had come loose. Pushed it back on...works fine.

This must be a common problem because my intermittant wipers did not work either. I replaced the relay and all is fine now.

I have this question. Why would a relay fail considering it is used infrequently?
