Ok, I know, not another window drop thread......anyway here goes. (I think I have read them all.....seems nobody has the exact same issue.

2003 996 coupe, passenger window (sometimes) will not drop the 1/2" when I pull on the outside OR inside handle.....don't think both micro switches went bad at the same time.  Doesn't happen all the time, when it does work, works fine, drops 1/2" or so (normal drop)....no noises, stays down when I let go.........I have replaced a regulator in my boxster, so I know what that acts like.....not it.  When it doesn't work, no noises, but the interior light DOES come on (when you lift the handles)...also, window does go up and down normally with the switch.  Now here's the kicker......this started AFTER I disconnected the battery, and If I turn the key on, the window seems to drop normally, and if I park the car after a drive and try it it works.....if I come back to the car an hour later there is a chance it will not work. (yes I have done the window re-learn steps numerous times) HELP!

Did you try resetting your window limits after you disconnected the battery?  The how to is in your owner's manual.

Hey JFP....thanks for the response.....I have done the "roll up and hold" for 10 seconds a few times....no help.....also when the car is running...the window ALWAYS drops withe the inside or outside door handle. Another clue.....when I open the door, and the window does NOT drop....if I turn the key on with the door still open, it will drop.  almost seems like a loose or bad connection, and turning the key on gives it  a "boost".
