The hight adjustment of my passenger seat does not work anymore. (Carrera 4 from 2001) The seat is locked in top position, the motor is humming both when pushing rocker up an down, but no movement? Motor sounds different from other seat motors. Is it a small compressor to pump up or how does it work? Alle other directions=ok

Any help will be welcome.

Test it again.  I bet the back of the seat does not go up and down, but the front does.

If this is the case it is an easy fix.  There is a plastic coated metal wire that goes from the motor to the gear across the bottom of the seat.  Both of mine went.  Part is $22.  PN 996 521 609 00

Take the seat out, flip it over, take out bad one and put in new one.  Can be done with the seat in the car and leaned back after unbolting the seat but you have to be a slight contortionist to do it that way.

If the entire seat does not go up and down it could be more complicated.

Just as you say. Thank you my friend. The former owner was a "big guy", I think the seat just gave up to his weight ;-)

Kind regards.

Done.

Repair took 30 min. I did loosen the seat with the E12 Torx, but didn't unplug the wires due to risk of activating airbag lamp.

THX for help.
