I stopped by the local FLAPS today. I wanted a can of ATE Gold. I was told ATE is no longer available in the U.S..

Does anyone have a recomended replacement? Trying to get ready for another DE in October.

Loren is correct, you are looking for ATE 200, which is the "gold".  Amazon also carries it: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_ss_i_1_4?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=ate+brake+fluid&sprefix=ate+%2Caps%2C135&rh=i%3Aaps%2Ck%3Aate+brake+fluid

IIRC the US DOT decided to ban ATE Blue brake fluid, since they decided that all brake fluid sold should be straw colored.  The ATE Blue was banned simply because of the color.

And strangely enough, after all that folderol, you can still buy it but it is marked "For off road use only".
