Hoping I can get some help.

Our cayenne for the past two days has this noise when going about 5 to 20 mph. It's like a rattling nose and kinda sounds like grinding. I'm still very new to this car and don't have much knowledge. I just did an oil change and nothing seems loose on the bottom of the car. I thought it was maybe the exhaust pipes hitting something.

Can anyone think of what it could possibly be?

Also, does anyone recommend a mechanic or place within Chino CA area? Hoping for a good deal as I can't afford to spend with a baby on the way :-/.

Thanks for your help.

Mine started making this whistle noise, like an air stream was going under the car that was easily heard when cruising down hill, off the gas. It went like that for a while until it started this rattling, grinding sound. I really hope that's not the case for you, as it's pretty costly. I think I paid around $3500 when it left me stranded in the middle of nowhere in central Florida

Yes here are the updates:

1) Took the car to a good shop and was only charged $50 for them to check it out. After half a day they called and I spoke with the mechanic. They had to put some kind of sensors to tell them where the noise (rattle like sound on metal and grinding) was coming from. Turns out that the drive shaft or from what I have read through other forums the (Cardan Shaft) is going out. They will charge me $1200 to replace it.

2) I looked through many forums and read through a lot of other peoples experience here. and decided to order a drive shaft from coloradodriveshaft.com. $500 bucks which includes a $100 core charge. I just received the drive shaft and will wait for this weekend to change it myself with my brothers help.

It doesn't seem like its very difficult to do and can be done within a few hours. Either way it saves me a lot of money.

What I don't fully get is some people changed the Flex Disk but the guy at colorado drive shaft said that it doesnt normally wear out and should be fine to keep and not replace. He mentioned many people are selling it cheap but its coming from China and would most likely make things worse down the line. If it is worn out (Check the inside of the flex disk for any tears) it should be replaced by with the original part.

Second, with this new drive shaft will I need the clamping bearing supporting mount? From what I have read it doesn't seem like that needs to be replaced.

The flex coupler is very robust unit, just check it signs of cracking. I driveshaft will be complete with the centre support bring assembly.
