Porsche Boxster S 2004 Help Please

I have recently purchased this car - which is ruddy fantastic however the drivers carpet is wet?

It was valeted when I bought it and took a week to dry out - hood down, heater on etc...but a small section of carpet has never dried?

Its only the size of a 10 pence ?  

It obviously had mats but they were removed before I purchased it and it has a hole to fit mats (if that makes sense?)

its in this small section that is wet. (where the mat should be clipped down?

 

Any ideas?

oooops forgot to say - ive had it 4 weeks now and it hasnt rained so cannot be from bad weather :)

Please do a search here for (in the Boxster section) for "drain".

You likely have one or more plugged drains.

You really want to remedy this as the car's immobilizer is under the the seat and if it get wet the car will not start and replacement cost is high.

 

Also, check the drain tube for the AC - it should drain out under the car not in it.

The Boxster has 6 drains to check. They are black and look like little donuts or grommets.

There are 2 in the front on either side of the battery and 4 in the back. Raise your clamshell and you will see one at the bottom on either side of the black plastic liner. Easily seen when you have the top part way open and there's also one on either side of the channel almost below the front tip of the clamshell by the door jam.

ive attached a piccy to show the area (the dark patch)

Im off on holiday later so will read your replies when I get back.  I will in the meantime put paper on floor to see if its coming from above whilst Im away.

(dont think its from above as we have had no rain in past 5 weeks since I bought the car).
