Hello all. I have the dreaded codes P0410 and P1411. I plan to track down the problem in the secondary air system. My question to those in the know..Can a problem in the secondary air system result in a lost of power? Thanks!

Side note: I do hear the the secondary pump come on when the car runs great. When check engine light comes on (as it has done several times in the past when I cleared the codes) shortly after start up, I don't hear the secondary air pump come on. The car idles rough with higher rpms as well. Can the fuse for the secondary air pump go bad gradually?

I've done a pretty extensive search. I plan to tackle the job this weekend but I didn't see any comments on loss of power with codes to the secondary air system.

What are you using to read the codes? I am not sure you are seeing all of them...

A good idle and poor high RPM (above 4000 RPM) usually indicates a dirty or bad MAF. But there should be a code for that too...

Your SAI problem should not in itself cause a lack of power. However, the underlying cause of this situation (air leak or something) may also be at the root of your engine not performing as it should.
