Has anyone installed this kit yet?  I'm preparing to dive into this project and am trying to gather as much information as possible.  Does anyone have a copy of the WSM or even a parts diagram showing the 3rd radiator?  Tips and suggestions are appreciated.

In past models there were never any instructions in a WSM.

If you are lucky there might be a TSB with instructions -- but I just checked and not currently.

 

Take a photos of the parts and their part numbers and post them here. We can then likely advise as to what replaces what.

My 991S has the 3rd radiator since it has the PowerKit option. All I can add is that the car always runs very cool, even when pushing it in the summer heat.

Loren, Thanks for checking.  I've found a couple of pics/posts of the front bumper removal and a WSM page from a 991 third radiator so I'm 99% sure I'll be able to get the new one in with the new plumbing pieces.  I will take some pics during to process to help the next brave soul.

 

The Service Information book for the 981 specifically states that the PIWIS should be used for the bleeding process but I know several others have successfully bled the system without it.  I'll be using one of the vacuum tools which supposedly makes the job much easier.  Might you have a WSM page describing the bleeding process steps?  (WSM 190107 ?? ) I'm curious if the PIWIS is absolutely necessary and if I can achieve a successful bleed with some patience and several cycles of bringing the car up to temp to remove the small bubbles.

I think the rationale for using the PIWIS stems from the use of the "thermal management system" on the 981/991 cars, which is an  overly complicated, electronically controlled thermostat-like setup.
