After 10 years I had to replace my Cayenne S with a new(er) one. The old one had the cooling fan running quite a bit already, but the new one it sounds almost like a turbine! Temperature gauge is not in overheating, so the fan works. But it is so loud. Naturally as I live in S-Nevada, we have it hot now and the thing runs almost all the time. The car is a 2011 S with now 34k m on it. Please let me know your experiences to decide if i have to see Porsche service.

Thanks!

You should hear the fan, but it should not be overly loud.  They can start to make noise when the electric motor is going south or if something has damaged the blades or stuck in them.

It's not loud enough that I hear it in the cabin and I wouldn't call it abnormally loud when the engine is running.

I have noticed a couple of times that it runs for awhile after I shut off the engine even in cases where I don't think it's warranted. In those cases I would call it loud, but that's in relation to everything else being off and silent at the time.
