I have a 2003 996 TT in the US.

I have not done any modifications to the car and the windows and sunroof will not go down now all of a sudden.

  • I have checked all the fuses they are fine
  • The window still goes up and down a 1/2" or so when the door is opened and closed
  • The windows still work if I use the key in the keylock to open/close them.

I did a search and came back empty handed,

Any thoughts/ideas on what this could be?

Just to double check, the fuse related to power window and sun roof are D1-D3-B6….

Thanks for the feedback guys.

Yes the battery was changed recently but the windows and sunroof were working fine after they were changed. They just went bad all of a sudden today.

I tried pressing the button down for 10-15 seconds and nothing happened and then pressed them up for 10-15 seconds. Still nothing.

Yes, the fuses I checked were indeed D1, D3, and B6.

How do I go about re-training the sun roof? In the same manner as the windows?

Are the windows and sun roof suppose to open/close when re-training them?

Re-training involves holding the button for open until the window opens all the way and continue holding for an additional 10 seconds. Do the same for window down.

Each window and sunroof are trained separately.

If the window drops 1/2 inch when you activate the the door handle then you are getting power.

The windows also go up or down if i put the key in the key lock on the door.

I tried holding down the button to open/close them and there is no movement what so ever from the windows/sunroof =/
