I have a 2003 996 with a bad Fuel Vent Valve, I have called dealers all over North America, nobody has this unit.

Part Number 996-201-143-01

Any body know where to get this unit?

Is porsche have a recall on this issue?

All

I have been on the phone with Porsche North America for the last three days. The company that makes this part is no long under contract with Porsche to make this part.

Porsche is looking for a new manufacture to build this part, untill them we are stuck.

Does anyone have a work around for filling the gas tank (about every 1/4 of a gallon the gas pump shuts down and gas get sprayed back at you and all over the fender)

Thank You

John

How did you diagnose this problem?  I ask because I had a vent related code and it turned out to be a frayed wire to the sensor.

use the search engine.

this issue is well documented.

it could be as simple as a mouse chewing through a wire at the vent connection on top of the fuel tank.

really.  under the battery tray.  seriously, this happened to me.

lots of posts on this issue.  good luck.

What judgejon said ...this was my issue.  Lord knows why a rodent would want to climb all the way up in there, but it sure looked like gnawing to me.
