There is a coolant manifold at the rear of the engine which contains the thermostat and coolant temp sensor, it's made up of several pieces and recommend changing them all in one go. It's not easy to replace and most of the work is done blind.

So my indy shop has told me there is a small leak of coolant in my 06 V6 Cayenne.  Was the Porsche Corporation recall only for the V8's or does it include the V6 as well.

Does someone have DIY instructions on replacing the necessary parts.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I don't know if your question was answered, but I also underwent a small coolant leak on the driver's side where the temp sensor is at.  The issue appeared to be the blank plug next to the temp sensor.  Over time the plug developed a crack and started to seep right down the center of it.  The coolant flange appeared to be in good shape still.  The part was under $3 from my local import parts dealer and I lost about 1/3rd of a Liter of coolant during the plug change.  It's a bit tight getting back there, but not too bad.  I ended up using a full liter of coolant to reach the max in my reservoir.  So far so good--no more leak--I'll update if there is any changes.
