Oem vs. Mahle air filter

Fyi....oem filter with the Mahle one ordered from amazon....you can see the Mahle number on the oem porsche filter.

I cannot confirm that on air filters, but for oil filters, the Mann filter is not the same.

the Mann oil filter has more of plastic flange/end cap design, while the OEM and mahle filter both have the internal plastic frame with fiber end caps. Not sure if it matters, but there is a clear difference.

Yea, Mann & Mahle have been OEM suppliers to most of the German car manufacturers for years. Sometimes one year you will get the Mann version (with OEM stamp) and one year you will get the Mahle version. Just depends on who gets the contract at the time. Years ago, the German division of Purolator was the main supplier for 911 oil, air, and fuel filters but now it seems like almost exclusively Mahle or Mann.
