<_< I just replaced the battery in my 2000 Boxster S. A Porsche certified used car with 16,430 miles. Battery died after I have owned 10 weeks. I keep the factory charger on in while it is in the garage. Kinda makes me wonder about that 100 pt. inspection. Oh well, I entered the radio code and the unit comes up with "WAIT". It sat there doing that for over 40 minutes. I finally shut the car off and went to bed. I turned the car on this morning and it still says "WAIT", what am I supposed to do?

It is in the radio manual. From my memory if you enter the wrong code 3 times then you see WAIT. You must then turn the key on and have the radio on for a least an hour before you can enter what hopefully is the correct code. If you enter the code way too many times then the radio has to be on for 24 hours.

How many times did you enter the code and do you know if you have the correct code.

I think you have it. I entered the code 3 times. Looks like I need to call the dealer, they must have given me the wrong code. Thanks!

If you are going to try to do this over the phone and this is a Porsche dealer then they will need the serial number for the radio to get the code unless they have it down somewhere else. You will need a real cooperative dealer. You are supposed to go to the dealer in person and prove you own the car.

Push and hold the TP button unit you see Becker on the display, then rotate the right knob 2 clicks for the serial number display.

I gave the serial number to my dealer and they called me back in just a few minutes with the correct code. I guess the radio must have been changed out. Thanks for all of your help! This forum is unbelievably informative. Thanks again.

If your "Battery died after I have owned 10 weeks.", I would hope the dealer would call you right back. I'd say they owe you some good will service.

I had a transmission go out on a used car from a (non-porsche) dealer after about 2 months - they sold me a new transmission at their cost.
