Found a box in my garage and contained a part that looks like some kind of overgrown relay or control module.

Any ideas what it is and what it is for?

Hey Dell...

That's a Litronics headlight relay for the Boxster (probably can also be used on the 996 because they have the same lights)...

I did the litronics retrofit on my 996 and sold the wiring harness that came with it sometime after I installed them and decided not to wire up the auto level feature. Didn't realize this was part of it. Man I feel like a jack*ss for selling another P-Car owner this kit without a vital part. I guess I should just trash it?

It is the control unit also used on the Boxster. Hang on to it. Some people just get the headlights from ebay and then want to know what parts they are missing.

I wouldn't trash it. Offer it out to someone at a reduced price maybe with no warranty...

Horse trading on RennTech.

You should see what happens at our local work on cars day. We pull a part out of one car to replace it with another part the owner has purchased. Then someone at the event buys the removed part because they want it and we put it in their car. Saves ebay fees.

LVDell, thanks for accepting my "LOW BALL" offer!

Maybe I can post something like "High beam rotation on Litronics - worth it?" later.
