I found this plug after removing the console for a 997 short shift install. I don't believe it was attached to the console, could it be for a Tip car? Or????

Thanks,

Can't see from your photo but there's an unattached plug there for the phone option. If memory serves, it contains all-time hot 12v, switched 12v, radio mute input, and ground. A good place to tap power from for accessories.

It is used for the OEM Phone Option. I was looking for the male mate but I ended up just tapping into the switched power wire #2 (green/black) with a wire tap.

#1. RED/GREEN - +12V from the battery. It comes from fuse E6, However, check to see if it needs a 7.5a fuse & a second fuse contact installed on the fuse panel to be active.
#2. GREEN/BLACK - +12V from ignition switch, powered with key in position II & III, and is powered by fuse E8.
#3. YELLOW/BLACK - telephone mute from black A radio plug pin 3.
#4. BROWN - ground

Ahsai and kbrandsma, many thanks for the information... That's a good thing to know if you have the need for power at the console. Is this a great site, or what...
