Hello,

I need your help finding the part number or a place to buy the steering rack bushing.

I have a 2005 cayenne S with 22 inch rims. My indy mechanic believes the control arms and steering rack bushing needs replacement. 2 tires are not wearing evenly. He believes that a bigger rim than the standard 19" may be aggravating the suspension. He can find the whole steering rack, but not the bushing by itself.

The vehicle only has 63000 miles on it. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you.

If you look at Porsche's parts list they do not sell internal steering rack parts - only the whole rack (over $1600.00 MSRP).

Your best choice might be a salvage yard and buying a low mileage steering rack off a wrecked car.

They are all basically the same from 2003 to 2010. Although there were many changes - they all fit and work the same.

Thank you. would the tuareg or audi steering rack work also?

It would appear so yes. It looks like VW may also have an exchange part for the steering rack.
