My 997 is dead quiet, except for a 'rattle' that sounds like a marble or a ball rolling around somewhere to the right of the driver seat, when I go even slowly over soft bumps. I can't reproduce the sound from the seat, the buckle, the glovebox or the console cubby box. Any suggestions?

Loose coins dropped inside the center console?

Checked it and you're right. But the quarter wasn't dropped - it was in one of the coin slots in the console, and it would move horizontally, causing the noise. My bad - thanks for the heads-up!!

Might be - I'll check on that. Thanks for this and any other suggestions.

I'm happy you found the cause of the rattle. But believe me there are many a coin rattling around along the full length of the console in many cars :(
