Crankcase Oil Drain Plug Torque

Recommended Posts

Posted

In the DIY tutorial here the torque for the crankcase oil drain plug is 52 ft-lb. The Porsche Manual for the Mk1 GT3 says 44 ft-lb, same as the plug on the oil tank. What is the correct torque for the crankcase plug on a 996 Mk2 GT3? Is there a difference between Mk1 and Mk2, sounds strange?

The manual that you are quoting above has not had the 99 supplemental updates it needs to bring up-to-date with corrections and additions. That is why we suggest that folks do not use it.

The 2003 revision says 52 ftlb. for GT3 oil pan

and 44 ftlb. for the oil tank.
