I am just at 1000 miles! Still 1000 more to go! Wow is it hard to keep the rpm below 4200! The car sometimes just wants to go (pdk). Any thoughts on the break in period? Does this avoid oil burning in the future?

Do it for another 1,000 miles. But, if it were my Porsche, I'd change the oil now, and send a sample to Blackstone, and start the data collection process.

I've always done it this way. None of my Porsche have even consumed oil between oil changes (5-8,000 miles between changes, depending on the model).

Are the extraneous wear metals in the first lil change? Thanks for the reply btw. :)

Sure, as expected. In a healthy motor, you see a steady decline in wear metals for well over 10,000 miles.

Just hit 2k and will be changing the fluids and getting some blackstone analysis done. As for the noise above4k - worth the wait - AMAZING!

Will hit 2k miles on the way to the track this weekend. Will still TRY to stay a little south of redline, though. This is my second time with break-in period. Best I can say about it is that it practically obligates you to drive your car as much as possible.
