i have a 2006 Cayenne V6 with 131k on the odometer. Never had problems with the transmission. Today I drive 60 miles an of a sudden the transmission jerks and went blank. Stopped check everything no leaks anything, continue driving and it starts doing the same thing it does not engage third gear. I arrived home driving in manual. checked the transmission control module and it looks fine. What can it be? Let sit the cayenne for about three hours and drive it. the transmission shifts normal. Only thing I did different was to change tires last night they are the same size as before. Please help can I drive it back home?

Could this be fuel pumps again? When mine bit the dust I did not have enough power to get past 2nd gear; it all happened very suddenly too.

You'll need to access transmission fault codes whilst the problem is occurring, if you shut the ignition off before hand it might not store the codes depending on the fault conditions.
