AWD and PSM failure repair

I get this failure messages .

I read this is the servo motor that needs to be replaced.

Is this something it can be done without reprograming the car?

You need to get the actual error codes from the computer to determine what has failed, do you have access to a Durametric ?

How old is the battery ?

My 2009 997.2 911 C4S won't start. It's sparingly used - but definitely driven once in two weeks. Had a break of 3 weeks and when I tried to start, had some sort of an electronics brown out. Car just won't start and I got these error messages. Also the spoiler went up and stayed there. After a few more tries, the side windows went down automatically. I'm suspecting the battery is dying [it's now hooked up to a trickle charger, but maybe its too late?]. Also, I just did an engine oil change by myself - can that really cause these error codes? Likely that the battery is far gone for a trickle charger.

Best buy a new battery and a battery maintainer.

That might just save me a whole lot of $$$ as I was thinking of calling the local porsche dealer and getting the car flatbedded to the workshop. But isn't it strange that those tell tale lights still come on? Is it because the battery has some life left but more or less dead. It is a 2009 with 27k miles on it... so likely that's the case.

No, it's not strange at all.  The behavior you are seeing is very common on these cars when the battery doesn't have enough juice.  You should definitely have the battery tested/replaced before you waste your money flat-bedding to a dealer.  If you aren't driving the car that often going forward get a nice charger like a CTek and just leave it hooked up while the car is sitting.

Have them load test your existing battery.  Any place like Autozone can do it quickly.  Last time I replaced my battery I used an Interstate but any reputable brand that is compatible with your car should be fine.  The shop you buy the battery from should be able to look your car up quickly and tell you what they have that's compatible.

 

Keep it on a CTek charger going forward when you're not driving it.  It will help prolong the life of your battery and avoid issues such as this.
