First of all, this is my first post, thanks for having me!

That 98 degree Chicago weather really gets to ya!

Car was sitting off for about 10 minutes in the shade, then a loud "pop", and the coolant fully drains within 45 seconds onto the ground. I'm still on the crappy plastic pipes, need to do the aluminum upgrade.

Couple quick questions:

Was there ever a silent recall on the plastic coolant pipes?

Anyone else had this happen with the car turned off?

Thanks RennTech!

:welcome:

Is the exact model and year of your car the same as your user name?

Have you looked to make sure it was not a hose? That would not surprise me on a 9-10 year old car.

No such thing as a silent recall with Porsche - recalls are primarily safety related and mandated by local country governments.

Porsche does at times do "Workshop Campaigns" which basically means change this out or fix this problem next time it a car is in for service - at no charge.

I do not believe the plastic coolant pipes were ever part of an Workshop Campaign.

As I said - on a 9-10 year old car - not a likely warranty claim... sorry.
