Does anyone know if the new 987 key head will work with the 986 system? I remember seeing somewhere that the 997 worked with the 996. I like the streamlined feel of the new 987 key and wonder if I bought it it would work with my 04 986.

Thanks

I remember that as well. Also using the Carrera GT remote on a 996. They were taking the guts out of the old remote and putting them in the new so they did not have to have the new programmed.

You can be the first to see if you can do this with a 986/987.

I just ordered a pair of Carrera GT key heads for use on my 986. Rick at Suncoast says that the internals for the GT head will work to replace a 2-button 986 key head. I will, of course, have to reprogram the car to work with the new key heads.
