Hello Folks,

Just trying to figure out what the stock boost guage in the dash should read in a 997.1 TT?

I have seen some '07's with 0-6-14 and some '07 with 0-9-18 in the dash.

If the guage reads 0-14, it seems like when in boost (sport mode), there will be an up arrow where as with 0-18 guage there's not.

Is it a programming issue or did the early '07's had a different boost guage?

Any body has any insight in this boost guage thingy for us?

Any way to verify if the car is boosting what it's suppose to boost?

Loren?

Thanks

OK Loren, I need little help interpreting the ^ data.

Also not sure if that data answers my question though?

Question is: what should the stock boost guage in an '07 997 TT read, 0-6-14 or 0-9-18?

Btw, changed my member status, you guys are great.

Thanks

I am not sure if the gauge readings change with adaption range. But if you look at the chart and the description of how it works their are 3 ranges - Partial Load, Full Load and Full Load with Overboost (SportChrono).

The adaption range changes depending on the mode the DME sees - so it seems you get max boost at lower RPM when in SportChrono (Overboost) mode.

Or are you really just asking what the numbers on the dial say?

In that case I would have to look at several as I don't recall. I think it is relative anyway unless you think you have a boost problem.

Exactly what I am looking for. I honestly don't think I have any boost leak as car seems to run pretty strong with out any hiccups. However, if my boost gauge reads in bars (0-0.5-1 bar) / psi (0-7-14) vs other cars that reads 0-9-18 so would that means the maximum boost I will run would be 1 bar/14 psi?

I do see an up arrow not sure what that means though?

Stock boost pressure ( 14 psi or 18 psi) in a 997.1 TT?

Sorry for all the inconvenience I might be causing?

I recall that my 2007 Turbo was 0-9-18 and had the Sport Chrono package.

The up arrow is indicative of when the car is in over-boost mode.

The stock 997.1 made a maximum of 18 lbs of boost. This was a peak boost, not a post level that was sustained for any significant period of time.

Did you see an arrow as well? My understanding is, the cars with 0-9-18, did not show the up arrow even when they were in boost?

Thanks
