I made the wire run up the center console - any reason to disconnect the battery? [since I am no where near the airbags/sensors]

Or can I just pull the radio & plug in the brown plug?

Thanks,

Sean

Porsche says to disconnect the battery in the rear speaker instructions. The side air bag impact sensors are in the rocker panels, where you are supposed to run the wires from the speakers to the radio head. It is better to be safe than sorry.

If you are going to tuck the wires under the center console then I see no reason. We have done it this way a few times without disconnecting the battery.

If you blow something up then I never met you. It takes a few seconds to disconnect the negative cable to the battery with a 10 mm wrench. If you want to do it your way because you do not have the radio code then you should just get the code.

Thanks, Tool Pants ... I appreciate your suggestion and realize this really only takes an extra few seconds [guess that excitement can get you into trouble sometimes, eh?].

First mod on my new [to me] 02 S.
