"04 966 coupe - I am wanting to upgrade the dash speakers for clearer, crisper high note. Seems like there are tweeters in there given the shape of the grills, however they just don't perform in the high ranges. Anyone replace / install a higher quality tweeter? Are the speakers 2 ohm?

Replies appreciated.

The speakers are definitely the weak link in the system.

I replaced my entire system, including the head unit, amp and speakers. I used Focal Poly Glass speakers.

Unfortunately, I don't know if they will work properly with the factory Bose amps.

The factory AMP is the typical Bose setup and uses a lot of signal processing to compensate for rubbish speakers, upgrading the speakers only isn't going to help, sorry. However,

Focal and Alpine have speakers that fit in the holes, Focal DIY

What speaker did you end up installing? I love the car but I don't like the sound at all when I crank up the sound the bass sounds really bad. I have the bass now at 0 it I move it up I can't listen to the radio. I think the problem is the door speakers.
