Cayman S 2008. Installed MLX Pista with ECU CAN Bus tap. Pista displays RPM fine, but now windows and mirrors both driver and passenger door inoperable, and Durametric states no communication to either door control unit. Window fuses OK. Suggestions?

Probably caused by the display's tap on the CAN bus, which I believe is how the door control unit's communicate. Remove the tap and see if control returns.

Did you attach to the Comfort CAN or the Drive CAN? (Two separate CAN buses, but perhaps you already know that).

If you can get it to work, I would be very interested to see what data you can read, particularly if you can display oil temperature and pressure.

Removing tap did not make any difference. As Richard posted, Tap is to CAN Drive (yellow/white (high) and black/white (low) wires) while Door control units are CAN Comfort (yellow (high) and black (low) wires). I believe that water temperature can be recorded, but that in the Cayman the oil pressure unit is an "idiot unit" that only sends a signal below a certain pressure to activate the instrument panel warning. There is an article on caymanregister.org on replacing the oil pressure unit with a 997 unit and installing a separate gauge. I installed an AIM pressure unit to monitor oil pressure.
