Boxster S MY2002.

Lock and unlock function does not work using the keyless entry system. Manual lock/unlock and alarm setting functions normally. Battery replaced in the key-fob, and the LED light functions as expected with the 3 locking options (Hood, trunk, doors). The Alarm LED does not flash when the the key's LED flashes. Any tips on where to start diagnosis.....I don't have a PST.

Thanks

Chris

Open your key and inspect the circuit board and buttons for damage or extreme wear.

You can buy a Porsche Design key and get new internal components with no re-programming if you transfer your immobilize pill from the old key to the new one.

The internal components "fell out" of my key and are lost. What are my options for getting the remote unlock functions to work?

:welcome:

You will need to get the transponder (pill) programmed on your new key(s). At least one hour labor I'd say.

Also they will need all existing keys to do the programming (so they can delete the missing one).

Thanks Loren for the Welcome.

Only have one key. Are you saying I have to go to the Porsche dealer to have the programing of a new transponder done? Are there aftermarket options that might be less costly?

Appreciate the advice.

Sorry, no aftermarket on these and you wouldn't want someone else making else making Porsche keys.
