Question on 305 rear tires on narrow body 997-2 C2

Hi,

Has anyone used 305 wide rear tires on the narrow body C2 cars without fitment or rubbing issues? I am looking to get a second set of wheels/tires, and find quite a variation in the aftermarket wheel specs.

If so, could you share what tires/wheel combination works? I am especially interested in the wheel width and offset(s) used. Also, please state if any wheel spacers were used.

I have turho II narrow body wheels with michelin super sport 305's. No spacers on an 09 c2.

I have 305/30/19 instead of the stock 295 on Sport Design wheels without any spacers etc. (on 2006 997-1 S), and no issues whatsoever, even when pushing the car...Subtle but welcome visual difference as tire is more flush with fender. Go for it.

I also have 305/30/19 on my 08C2S with no spacers or wheel/tire issues. Stock Carrera Sport rims with Michelin super sports. Also agree with mghorayeb about the tires being more "flush" with the fender.

Here is photo of my rear end on 305's. No spacers are required.

Thanks all. This is good info. Sounds like there are no issues once we stick to factory wheels (offsets).

Old thread... Anyone running 305/30-20 on a 997 C2? My 295/30-20 are done and 305 is much more available than 295 in my area.

 

I have OZ "superleggera" 20" wheels fore and aft. Not sure what the rim widths are. Is there a sensible way to measure the rims widths on the car?

 

FYI: MY05 997.1 C2. TechArt lowered 1". I have 295/30-20 rears and 245/30-20 fronts. All Goodyear F1 Eagle. I'd buy a set of Goodyear for the rear if they were available.
