I just had my 2002 inspected today, and it did not pass because of leaking rear struts. They couldn't get me replacement prices because all of the parts stores and dealers were closed, so they are going to check on Monday. Any advice on whether or not I use after market, or geniune Porsche parts? It is not a track car, just a casual sunny day sunday driver.

If you are looking for brand new and not the top of the line I hear the Konis are descent.

If you want performance go for Bilstien / H&R coilovers.

Stock is also good if you aren't tracking the car. If you are on a tight budget there should be some reasonably low mileage units floating around from people who have upgraded their suspension as I've seen them from time to time.

Leaking at 37k? WOW! I pulled mine of at 45k, and they were still in good shape, and replaced them with Bilstein PSS9 adjustable coilovers because the ride & handling are night and day. If you are not concerned with that level of performance (or cost), then the Bilstein Sports are reasonably priced, and still far better than the stock units. I would recommend an all around replacement, though, not just rears, but it's your wallet.
