Hi All,

This past weekend's project was to install my new B&M short shifter. Things got started well, and I was zooming (but carefully) going through each step. Well, I get to the final step prior to reinstalling the console and bingo........a problem.......

I cannot get the cable to re-seed into the guides with the springs.........

I placed the cables in the guides and released the springs a million times and the cable continue to pop out once I start testing the gears.......

I have tried holding a small screwdriver against the cable as I test the gears.... Heck, I even put some duck tape around the cables while testing in the hopes the cables would marry to the spring ends while testing......... NO LUCK......

What am I doing wrong....... Why won't my cables and springs re-marry.......

Make sure that the cables are all the way inside the guides so that when you release the spring, it should go over the cable completely. I found that I had to push the cable down to where it "clicks" into the guide.
