I pulled off my rear view mirror yesterday (to get to the rain sensor) and found a small circuit board hanging by one (brown) wire. There was also an unconnected red/black wire nearby. The part no is 996.632.063.00 - it has a microswitch on the circuit board. Can anyone tell me what this is? SHould it be connected to the red/black wire as well?

The car is a 2003 996TT. Sorry for the grainy photos!post-76331-0-89029600-1361209070_thumb.j

Thanks, Ben

Update - I am told that this is the switch for the interior light that shines down on the radio etc (LED?) and it selects either dim or bright. The fact that only one wire was connected may mean that mine wasn't working. I will check it out on the weekend. I am expecting that the red wire will connect next to where the brown wire was.

Cheers Ben
