Hi guys

I took my headlamps out to install new osram nightbreakers H7 in the high beam.

I put back the headlights and I got a check dipped beam error, the left xenon was not working, took it out and seated it again and now it showed check high beam again I took it out and reseated the unit. The high beam came on but error still showed, I drove around then the indicator error came up on the right side lamp, again took it out and reseated it.....everytime I reseat it the old error dissappears and a new one pops up.

Tried cleaning the contacts also but no avail.

Im sure its loose contacts, whta can I do about em??

Thanks

Ron

Make sure you hear and feel a solid "click" when you turn the tool to lock the headlight in place. If you don't the connectors won't make proper contact.

It should "pop" into place. If you look at the rotating levar (bar) on the housing tray or platform it should rotate away towards the back of the car.

You might try using some decent quality grease on the rails the headlight slides on (make sure they're clean first.) Use a bit on the metal loop that captures and locks them in. That seemed to help mine seat more easily.

I had the same problem with mine the gears had stripped so i removed the connector from the seat and installed on the back of the light before winding it back ,at least i knew the plug was in properly , i had to break the small plastic pieces from the front of the connector seat first but it did the trick . the painters screwed up the gears .

Are you still getting the dipped beam error? If so, double check both wire harness connectors. I had to use a zip tie on both because they would wiggle loose or when I slid the headlight tray back in I think I loosened it. Additionally, when I get the error replacing the bulb, even when I thought it was a good one usually solves it.
