To those in So. CA, has anyone ever purchased tires from Wheel Enhancement in Culver City, had them mounted and balanced?

Also consider Tire Rack. They can drop ship to their list of recommended installers, who dymanic road force balance. Wheel Enhm. had a solid rep.

Thanks for the suggestion White987S. I did contact Tire Rack and they gave me a very good price on the Super Sports. However, they recommended Sears for the installation and I am very reluctant to have them do the work. I have to say that if it was my wife's Prius, I probably wouldn't have a problem with that but.....

Ask them for another recommendation. They should have several based on your zip code near your home and/or office location. I've also taken new tires to the Porsche dealership, and have then do the install. They just charge more.

Wheel Enhancement in Culver City is a top tier operation. They know tires and wheels. They charge a bit more then the discount operations but you get what you pay for.

Thanks AP997S. Wheel Enhancement provided me a quote and it was very competitive to two others I got. Did you buy Super Sports from them?

One last question guys. Since I don't like the two recommended shops for mounting and balancing that Tire Rack gave me, I called my local Porsche dealer about mounting and balancing if I supplied the tires (Super Sports from Tire Rack). Their pricing on mounting and balancing from the dealer was right at $200.00 which I thought wasn't too bad. On alignment though, other independent tire shops wanted $175.00 or so for alignment but the Porsche dealer wanted $350.00. I was all prepared to let the dealer install the new tires until I got the alignment price. Any opinions on that?

I would not allow a tire shop to align my Porsches. But, that's just me.

That's the going rate for an alignment from a dealership. A qualified indy shop will charge you about $250ish (figure $125ish/hour). Yes, I know it does not take that long.....but that's what they will charge you, for a first alignment.

Make a new post, and ask for indy recommendations in your area for a good alignment. The drawback being that you will now have to go to 2 places as opposed to just one. If that's a hastle, pay the extra $100ish for the dealership, for the convenience. You can make more! :)
