Mystery Loose Wire

Recommended Posts

I am replacing the distributor caps and rotors on a 1995 993. When I removed the lower duct housing I found a connector behind the duct which was not connected to anything. It is not the wire going to the temperature sensor on the front of the duct or the connector for the heater coil. The wires going into the connector are red/white and grey/white and it's a 2 prong female connector. I can't find anything close enough to the connector that it could attach to. The only thing it could reach is the back of the duct, but there is nothing on the back of the duct for it to connect to.

Thank you both for the input. I am going to pull some more of the blower duct work off tomorrow and see if there is any open connector that I can reach with the loose one I have. If I can't find anything, I think I'll just tape the loose one up and leave it alone. I started the car after replacing the distributor caps and rotors and it runs fine with the connector not attached to anything.
