Daytime running lights question

Currently have my foglights hacked as daytime running lights. (DRL required in Canada) Instead of the foglights i want to use the small lights inside the headlight that go on when you turn car off with the headlights on...I don't know what these small lights are called. Has anyone done this?

Those are the parking lights. They are not very bright in daytime though.

There is a hack that involves a jumper to the fuse box that allows the regular high beems to come on as soon as the car is started.

Works like a charm and passes Canadian Tires certification. I'll see if I can find it and try and post it.

Be careful about doing a hack to run the fog/driving lights as DRL's, in many states in the US, the fog/driving lights must go out when the highbeams come on. If they do not, the car probably will not pass annual safety inspections.

The small 5 watt bulb is known as a city light. In some European cities it's against the law to drive with the headlights on and only with the city/marker lights. When I install a universal DTRL kit I use the city lights and triggered power from the windshield washer nozzle heater circuit.

Sounds like a good idea. I curently have the hack that prohovie is referring to.

Where did you make the connection for the washer heater circuit? Mine is a 1997...Thanks
