I know this is kind of nit picky, but I have the original floor mats in my 2002 996, and the driver floor mat is constantly riding up the floor where it actually gets in the way of the clutch pedal etc. I have to adjust it, and pull it back all the time, it almost caused me to get in a crash yesterday. I attach it back to the factory velcro stays, but within a few miles there loose again, it's a real pain, and dangerous !

The velcro attachments don't seem to work that well, and the round factory velcro connectors have also come loose rendering them pretty useless. Anyone got any good ideas how to secure the mats to the under carpet,it's a real pain !!! Thanks Dave

Dave,

If you're talking about the 2 round plastic plugs I believe they screw in... try and take a flat blade screw driver and turn the plugs clockwise to tighten. I'm not sure about this, but it appeared to me that they tighten up when I rotated the plugs. How about putting a piece of Velcro on the head of the plastic plugs? Use the "industrial" strength Velcro...

Thanks I'll try anything. The floor mats constantly ride up and get under the clutch pedal. As I said it's really annoying. I'll see if they don't make some type of clip, I think they came with a BMW I bought back in the 90s so the floor mat stays in place, never used them, but now, with my 911 I sure could use something like that !

I upgraded to Lloyd's ultimate mats for the same reason, the new mats come with fixings that affix to the front seat bolts.... So mats never move, $80 online delivered for the front 2 and better quality. Easy install just a screw driver and 5 minutes and i was done...Well worth considering as my mats are firmly in place and like you my original mats kept slipping.

Hey Thanks a lot. I went to the site, but which 'TYPE' (they have many categories) have what you described so I can bolt them onto the seat bolts ? It's not clear which ? Thanks Dave.

Here is the link to the ones I bought, they come with all the hardware, real easy install. The brand was Lloyd and the mats I got we're the ultimat. They come with 2 plastic clips that slip over the front bolts holding the seats in place and then the mats have a clipped attached they simply click in place. They even send instructions and I am very happy with the final result no more slipping mats and no more Velcro.
