Hi, I posted this earlier but didn't get much help...

I came across this article, which is very similar to the noises I've been hearing from the past year, except mine is with Tiptronic.

http://porsche996turboblog.blogspot.tw/2010/07/issue-clanking-noise-while-accelerating.html#!/2010/07/issue-clanking-noise-while-accelerating.html

The noises appear on 2, 3, 4, 5th gear, when RPM is around 1800~2000, under slight acceleration. The noise lasts only 1~2 seconds; a grinding/rattling sound coming from under the front area.

I can't be sure if the noise occurs right after I've repaced the rear tires (same spec, 295/30/18, Michelin PS2) early this year, as the article suggests the noise is due to rolling tolerances of the Michelin tires (the same brand as mine)... but the time seemed to coincide.

Any fix or suggestion as to how I can live without these noises? (The tires are still new... so I don't want to experiment with new tires, as they are quite costly.)

Thanks!

D.
