Stock 2007 997 Turbo tip. No modifications whatsover.

On cold starts, sometimes i get a "beep" [warning beep] and a quick one second or less warning message = TIPTRONIC EMERGENCY RUN. (Had to video the error message as it was too fast to read)

Have sent the car to the local dealer but problem still persists.

Things they have tried are :

Change sensor

Clean the linkages and connectors

Problem only occurs when engine is left overnight..... and even then may not always throw out the error message.

Any ideas ??

I sometimes got this on my 996T if I moved the lever slowly between P and R. It never did it if I made a positive movement between the two. I put it down to a lazy multifunction switch (on the bottom of the lever) but I can't say if it was that for certain.

Apparently the problem is the batter / alternator.

If the power is low, there is an error message. Once the battery is at full charge, i dont get this problem.

Checking the alternator charging now. There were some problems noted on the thickness of wiring in the cars apparently.

Battery drains because my car is not used much and when the car is cooling down, when the car is switched off, the battery can run the fans and that causes a drain....

This is what I have been told so far.

There are a couple of fuses in the panel that will cause this too. Make sure they are all pushed in all the way and have good contact! If certain ones are even loose the car will go nuts!

Good luck!
