I'm currently upgrading a stock 2002 996 C2 with a RoW M30 suspension but also have a set of H&R lowering springs that came with the car... anyone have any experience in combining the RoW M30 sways and struts with H&R springs??? Good idea / Bad Idea???

thanks/steve

Usually aftermarket springs require firmer dampening ability. If you are going to be paying for the labor, why not have a fresh set of struts paired with the H&R? Going with full strut remove/replace should cut labor (compared with tearing off M30 springs and re-installing) and then could sell the M30 set complete in used parts....

You might want to check out the discussion found on the link below to avoid excessive inner rear tire wear caused by the H&R springs that lower the car so far that the rear camber cannot be set to factory specs.

My 2003 C2 has the M030 and H&R sport springs. I did this three years ago and have had no problems since I put in the rear upper adjustable control arms. Works great as long as you address the rear upper control arm issue. Without this adjustment, you will not be able to adjust the rear camber properly. This puts the normal C2 ride height down to about the same level as for a GT3. It looks very nice and it works great on the track.

Thanks all... for the time being I've decided to forgo the H&R lower springs and the subsequent need for adjustable control arms, and just install the RoW M30 springs/shocks and sway bars. I'll be testing out the car at Summit Point over Thanksgiving so hopefully that lets me know I've made a good decision... by the way, swapped out the suspension using the DIY guide on this site and it was a piece of cake!
