Hi all,

Away from home at the moment and pulled up at the hotel to hear a squeeking noise from the engine together with maybe a slight missfire/lumpiness..

Any ideas?; i didnt notice it until I stopped for fuel as performace seems to be about the same on the motorway/freeway trip I just did.

Could it be a coilpack?; can I drive it (home) about 130 miles?

...Worried!....

I wouldn't drive it.. If you have a belt or waterpump failure and drive the car it could cause catastrophic engine damage. Play it safe and get it towed to a tech..

it was the waterpump. Got me back but steam and some water on engine.

Serpentine belt etc all in tact - I really didnt have a choice due to a non miss work appointment.

Engine ran fine all the way back; I think it only just started spilling water as temps were all fine and filler bottle only just below minimum...

for background, its a 25K miles engine (70K clock) - replaced under warranty before I had it no doubt due to an IMS.

I suspect they put the old pieces back on the engine from the old scrap engine in this case??..
