I am Porsche newbie.., please help...

I recently purchased 06 Cayenne S.

I didn't know it came with power tail gate closing function like Mercedes S class....

Anyway... tailgate has to be slammed to be shut tight.

According to the manual it just needed to be hooked and the system pulls...

no... not doing it...

I have searched the forum and check the fuse.... except the fuse for the subwooper... everything is okay...

Fuse #30 labeled for power lift gate...it is fine... I even replaced it with new one... still not pulling...

One more strange thing is.... Rear cargo area lamps are all gone... I took them out and tried, the bulbs are all okay...

but nothing comes on. when the tail gate opens.

There are two at the bottom inside of the tail gate and one right on top center of the cargo area.

Last.... air flow from the rear center outlet where the center console is too weak... Front is more than enough....

so I reduce the A/C fan speed... then rear passengers started to complain....

Any thought? Please....

Sorry, my bad, no power lift gate but I have fuse #30 for REAR LID POWER CLOSING MECHANISM....

so I guess I have...

Also, the owners manual does not mention about power opening, but clearly has a section for POWER CLOSING, thus I assume it is kind of standard for 06 Cayenne S.

Thank you.

Do you have option IGY1 Power closing mechanism for tailgate?

The fuse is there, so I assume I have....

I have just check the option code under the spare tire, but I do not see the code GY1, Do I have it or not?

I checked your VIN and you have that option.

Check fuse F30 and the relay L2.

You mean left side of the dash fuse #30 right?

Where is this relay L2?

Thank you.

I just heard from dealer that the rear control unit in the car is bad and needs to be replaced. The cost would be around $1200..... it is really could be the source of the problem and price reasonable?

If they have not tried re-programming the unit - I would highly suggest that. Many times a supposed bad controller has just had it's memory scrambled and needs to be re-programmed.

If they insist then take it to another dealer for "second opinion".

Relay L2 = ? Left side fuse box? I can't find that relay on the schema.

I have issues with the closing mechanism on my Cayenne. It stopped working intermittently and when I now press the closing button nothing happens. The button has a light though, and no error codes. Fuse 30 seems fine but fuse 31 I have not checked, nor any relays. I don't understand L2 refers to.
