Boxster Air Intake Facia Removal

Loren, Tool Pants and all,

I want to remove the boxster air intake facias from the rear quarter panels in order to make molds of them. I will be developing something custom and i'm not a huge fan of Techart or Tweeks intakes.

Is this possible without removing the rear quarter panels?

I have never removed them but I watched a dent guy remove them a few years ago. You remove the philips screw from the housing, but the housing will not want to pull out as it is connected to the black grills. He pushed the black grills in the direction of the motor and that released them from the clips that hold them in place. Then he removed the housing.

That is what I remember he did so he could get to some dings with his tool. Let us know if you find any easy way to do it and take some pictures. Jeff

Okay, here it is... :thumbup: it went pretty well.

I threw this page together so we could save some file space here (plus as a comcast customer you get 25megs of free webspace on their lagging servers, so what the heck... not a permanent solution but good for now)

Very, very good. You got the louvers/grills out without breaking the mounting tabs. Hope you do not mind a few links to your site as this question comes up from time to time. Jeff
