Great thread! I can confirm that the replacement of the other relay does in fact bring the backlighting at the analog dials back to life!! Thank you for the wonderful write up and link for replacement relay!!

3 dials won't unscrew off no matter how many times I rotate it counter clockerwise.  I'm pretty sure the shaft of the dial is rotating backwards versus the plastic dial from the shaft.  Anyone have any suggestions?

Would appreciate feedback on the correct procedure for removing the needle from the shaft.  I've tried the 2 procedures in this thread with no success.  Perhaps I'm interpreting the directions too literally but input from anyone who has been able to successfully remove them would be greatly appreciated!  Otherwise, great write up and everything has come off with ease up until this point.

I know its been a long time since anyones posted here, but does anyone know the part number, or where to find the part number, for the two transformers? I believe my illumination transformer is out and I figured if I'm there I might as well replace both. Thanks in advanced!

Picture below shows what I'm talking about, the Digital display is fine along with the illumination of the needles, but the backlights are out.

Had the same problem with my 955 Turbo. Replacing the Transformer did NOT solve mine.  I had to replace the 221 inductor and the failed transistor here is the link to pics

Hope this helps someone:

If anyone is still looking at this thread, I am in the process of replacing the transformer for the LCD display. It is part number 8948411102. The new ones have an R2 after the s/n and are slightly larger than the original but that is all I could find with the same part number. All instructions to this point have been perfect. Autorepairguys on Youtube have the best video on removing the instrument cluster.
