Hi, I am installing a set of recon running lights on my 99 C4 and wonder where would be the best wire routing up to the firewall grommet behind the battery. I was thinking of using the side marker wire hole. Tx

ok, no replies, maybe for the best! I had to do some serious thinking to get it done. Ended up mounting the recon lights on the upper outside splitters on the bumper. Three small screws hand drilled then used locktite. Had to fabricate extension brackets on each side and shaped them out of simpson hurricane brackets from home depot. they are really easy to cut and shape but still plenty beefy. Ran the wires right through the rubbery black cover behind the bumper (sealed with a little clear silicone). Then ran the wiring into the wire channel on the passenger side next to the trunk. I put the ground onto the large ground nut there and tied into the side marker wire for the "kill wire" (turns running leds off when running lights are switched on). I spliced the power wires together in the wire channel, ran through the wire grommet (under the wire harness), ran behind the battery then through the big rubber grommet on the drivers side. I bought the phone wiring harness and plugged into the switched power. So the lights come on when you start the car and shut off when you turn on the runnig/headlights. It was a great bonding experience.
